September Happenings
Fourth grade is off to a wonderful start! Students continue to transition nicely into the routines and expectations of fourth grade. We began the year coming together as a group and practicing our team building skills, as students engaged in building straw towers while following the design process.
In addition to developing our routines and expectations this month, we began delving into many of our academic units. In math, we began with a review and examination of place value and operations. Throughout the year, students work on creating an interactive math notebook, which we started this month. They learn and practice note-taking skills and organization. Students planned and drafted their first writing assignment, The Important Thing. Finally, in reading students continued to practice active reading strategies as they read Shiloh.
We look forward to a fantastic year!
