Our next field trip is to the JFK Library for their March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom program on March 27, 2017 and April 10, 2017.
We will spend the day engaged in an age-appropriate, hands-on workshop and toured several Civil Rights exhibits. Students will re-enact their own March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom through the museum, taking on the roles of individuals coming from all over the United States to fight for equality.
In addition, students will learn more about the role John F. Kennedy played in the Civil Rights Movement and the many, often unacknowledged, individuals who dedicated their time and effort into planning the March on Washington.
